Introduction

PEJE offers a growing suite of cutting edge Day School Peer Yardstick™ tools designed to drive your school's performance. The Yardstick Suite of Tools, developed by PEJE and Sacha Litman of Measuring Success, is a management tool designed to help day schools focus on the key organizational activities associated with larger and faster growing day schools.

The Yardstick Model is a proven method of benchmarking progress that allows your school to make data-driven decisions, from the boardroom to the admissions office. The model is based on benchmarking methodology commonly used to improve performance in the private sector and has been developed specifically for day schools.

Yardstick Suite of Tools Report Benefits

  • give schools a clearer idea of what data to track in order to reach enrollment goals;
  • board members and professionals have access to data, rather than merely anecdotes, during critical policy discussions;
  • elements of the reports may be used effectively to communicate with key stakeholders, particularly donors who resonate with management efforts to track performance in a professional manner; and
  • by making data collection and analysis a regular activity, schools can set measurable goals based on clear data.

Yardstick Suite of Tools
  • Benchmark Report
    The "heart" of the Yardstick. This tool is designed to capture year-end data on key school activities that are associated with enrollment growth and financial stability. Custom reports are provided to each participating school comparing your school's performance to similar and best practice Jewish day schools elsewhere in the country, and against your school's own longitudinal trends. For further information contact benchmark@yardsticksuite.org.
  • Jewish Day School Parent Survey
    Enable your school to understand how parents value the educational and community experiences provided by the school, especially as compared with other options (public, private, other Jewish day schools). The Jewish Day School Parent Survey Report will help school leaders in identifying specific areas for improvement. For further information contact parentsurvey@yardsticksuite.org.
  • Strategic Financial Modeling Tool
    Allow your school to develop dynamic financial models while providing instant feedback on the impact of your decisions using a set of benchmarks or industry standards. Learn to position your school for stability and growth over multiple years by aligning your vision and mission with a plan for the resources your school needs to raise and spend.
